Etsy Fee Calculator
Use this free Etsy fee calculator to find out how much of each sale you actually keep. Enter your listing price, the shipping you charge the buyer, the quantity sold, and any coupon discount, and the calculator applies Etsy's current fee structure — the $0.20 listing fee, the 6.5% transaction fee, and the 3% + $0.25 payment processing fee — to show your total fees, your net revenue, your profit margin, and the breakdown per item, so you can price with confidence.
Optional. A discount lowers the price the buyer pays, and fees are charged on the discounted price plus shipping.
Etsy fees used: listing fee $0.20 per item, transaction fee 6.5% of (price + shipping), payment processing 3% + $0.25 per order. Offsite ads fees are not included.

How it works
Selling on Etsy looks simple — list an item, get paid — but three separate fees come out of every sale, and they add up to more than most new sellers expect. This Etsy fee calculator works out exactly how much of a sale you keep after Etsy takes its cut, so you can price your items with confidence instead of guessing.
The first fee is the listing fee: $0.20 per item, charged when you list it and again each time one sells (a listing renews when it sells). The second is the transaction fee: 6.5% of the total sale price, including the shipping the buyer paid — not just the item price. That detail catches many sellers out, because offering "free shipping" by raising the item price still leaves the transaction fee applied to the full amount. The third is payment processing: 3% of the order total plus $0.25 per order. Note that the $0.25 is charged once per order, not once per item, so selling two items in one order is slightly cheaper per item than selling them separately.
A coupon discount lowers the price the buyer pays before fees are calculated. If you offer 10% off a $40 item, the buyer pays $36, and the transaction and processing fees are charged on $36 plus shipping. The listing fee stays at $0.20 per item regardless of the discount. The calculator applies the discount first, then works out each fee on the discounted amounts.
The profit margin shown here is net revenue as a percentage of gross sales — the share of the sale price you keep after Etsy fees, before your own costs. It is not your true profit, because it does not include what you paid for materials, your time, packaging, or the actual cost of shipping the item. To find your real profit, subtract those costs from the net revenue figure. If the net revenue is lower than your costs, the listing loses money even though it sold.
Two fees are deliberately left out. Etsy's offsite ads fee (12% to 15% of the sale when a buyer comes from an Etsy ad) only applies if you have that program turned on, and it varies by shop, so it cannot be calculated from the listing alone. Currency conversion fees also apply if you sell in another currency. Check your Etsy fee schedule for the latest figures, since Etsy changes its fees from time to time.
Worked example
A seller lists a handmade mug at $40 with $5 shipping charged to the buyer, sells 2 in one order, and offers no coupon.
Step 1: Gross sales — ($40 + $5) × 2 = $90.00.
Step 2: Listing fees — $0.20 × 2 = $0.40.
Step 3: Transaction fees — 6.5% × $90.00 = $5.85.
Step 4: Payment processing — 3% × $90.00 + $0.25 = $2.70 + $0.25 = $2.95.
Step 5: Total fees — $0.40 + $5.85 + $2.95 = $9.20.
Step 6: Net revenue — $90.00 − $9.20 = $80.80, or $40.40 per item.
Step 7: Margin — $80.80 ÷ $90.00 × 100 = 89.78%.
The seller keeps $80.80 from the $90.00 order after $9.20 in Etsy fees. Enter $40, $5 shipping, quantity 2, and no coupon in the calculator above and you will get exactly the same result.
FAQ
What are Etsy's fees in 2026?
Etsy charges a $0.20 listing fee per item, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping, and payment processing of 3% plus $0.25 per order. Those are the fees this calculator uses. Offsite ads fees of 12% to 15% apply only if that program is turned on for your shop.
Is the Etsy transaction fee charged on shipping too?
Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee applies to the item price plus the shipping the buyer paid. That is why the calculator adds price and shipping together before applying the 6.5%.
How much does Etsy take from a $40 sale?
On a single $40 item with $5 shipping and no discount, the fees are $0.20 listing, $2.93 transaction (6.5% of $45), and $1.60 processing (3% of $45 plus $0.25) — $4.73 in total, leaving $40.27 from the $45.00 the buyer paid.
Does Etsy charge the $0.25 processing fee per item or per order?
Per order. A single order of two items is charged one $0.25 processing fee, while two separate orders are charged $0.25 each. The listing fee, by contrast, is $0.20 per item.
How do I price my items to cover Etsy fees?
Work backwards from the net revenue you need: divide your target net amount by roughly 0.905 (to cover the 6.5% plus 3% percentage fees), then add about $0.45 for the listing and processing flat fees. Test the price in this calculator and check the net revenue before you publish the listing.
